New CCIE Storage Workbook v2, Walkthrough Workbook v2, VRACK v2, and Personal Bootcamp v2 are now available.
ieMentor CCIE Storage training v2.0ieMentor is proud to announce the second edition of the CCIE Storage Workbook and the new CCIE Storage Walkthrough Workbook. These two books are designed to serve as a practical self-study guide in preparation for the new Cisco Systems CCIE Storage Networking lab exam and for an advanced study in the storage networking field using Cisco products and technologies.
The original Storage Workbook v1 was released in April of 2006. At that time it was the first and only training material on the market for the Cisco CCIE Storage Networking lab exam. At the time of the release of this new second edition (February 2009), there are still no other CCIE Storage workbooks on the market. But this didn’t help us relax when developing the new material. We made sure that the new Workbook has all new content, covers everything you need to know about SAN-OS and helps you towards a successful lab exam attempt.
The primary reason for the release of this edition is the new CCIE Storage Networking Lab Exam v2.0 that Cisco Systems announced on March 3, 2008 and introduced on July 24, 2008.- The original CCIE Lab Exam v1.0 was based on SAN-OS v1.3
- The original ieMentor Storage Workbook v1.0 was based on SAN-OS v1.3 and v2.x
- The new CCIE Lab Exam v2.0 is based on SAN-OS v3.2
- The new ieMentor Storage Workbook v2.0 is based on SAN-OS v3.x
New Products
What’s new in the ieMentor CCIE Storage Training v2.0The following features were changed or added to our new CCIE Storage Training v2.0. If you own our original CCIE Storage Workbook v1.x, this summary will help you understand what you are upgrading to.- New Storage Workbook and Walkthrough Workbook are 100% compatible with Cisco's new CCIE Lab Exam v2.0
- Storage Workbook is now split into two products: CCIE Storage Workbook v2.0 and Walkthrough Workbook v2.0
- All Workbook labs are based on SAN-OS 3.3(2). Master Lab 3 is also based on SAN-OS 1.x and 2.x. CCIE Lab is currently based on SAN-OS 3.2(3a).
- All new SAN-OS 3.x features have at least one or more corresponding lab questions
- All content is new. All Workbook v2.0 lab questions are new.
- All lab questions are CCIE-like. Most of them don’t have a simple and straight-forward solution
- Master Labs have less than 5% of questions repeated from the Focus Labs
- Walkthrough Workbook v2.0 contains a lot more detailed walkthrough solutions than the old Workbook v1.x
- Every Walkthrough Workbook v2.0 Focus Lab contains a compact detail-oriented explanation of the SAN-OS features
- Fibre Channel Bench Reference (2nd edition) is added to the product offering at a discounted price
- CCIE Storage VRACK v2.0 now completely matches the Workbook v2.0 topology
- Storage VRACK was upgraded and now contains four Cisco MDS switches, two 3rd party vendor switches (Brocade and McData), four JBOD arrays and four Windows servers
- Workbook v2.0 contains 25 focus labs, compared to 20 mini labs in the Workbook v1.x
- Walkthrough Workbook v2.0 contains over 300 screenshots of Device Manager, Fabric Manager, Web clients, iSCSI initiator client and other applications
- There are almost three times more lab questions in the Workbook v2.0 than in the old Workbook v1.x
- Storage Workbook v2.0 hard copy is 178 pages with 540 pages of soft copy configuration solutions
- Storage Walkthrough Workbook v2.0 hard copy is 700 pages
